I'm an EIT and UBC Electrical Engineering grad specializing in drones, battery manufacturing, and robotics. Whether it's rapid prototyping or product development, I love the hands-on challenge of taking a hardware idea from a napkin sketch to a fully functional prototype. Off the clock, I spend my time backpacking, fishing, boating, and, inevitably, tinkering with more electronics.

Worked with a UBC research team (HCI Lab) to develop a drone capable of spinning its outer shell to display video through the persistence-of-vision effect. Designed, sourced, programmed, and flew the drone while also contributing to other research projects.

Built multiple FPV racing drones and competed provincially, qualifying for nationals. High-pressure race environments sharpened skills in rapid electronics diagnosis, repair, and tuning — where any mistake means getting a DNF.

Worked within a UBC Capstone team to design a relay VTOL drone for North Shore Rescue in Vancouver. The aircraft acts as a communications bridge to extend the operational range of DJI drones used by search-and-rescue operators in challenging terrain.

Designed a schematic and circuit board for a custom hall effect sensor board. This board has multiple analog inputs as well as an OLED screen and a SP3485EN IC for communication. The design was sent to China for fabrication and assembly.

Co-developed an analog heart rate monitor at UBC with visual output display. Responsible for schematic capture, PCB layout, and hand soldering — delivering a clean, functional board within tight academic timelines.

Micro sized brushless motor that I designed and 3D printed for a university project. Motor was wound with thin copper wire and worked when connected to an electronic speed controller. Due to plastic heat restrictions the motor lifespan was short.

PCB designed around an Arduino Nano that has the capabilities to turn off any common TV using infrared brute forcing. Code adapted from Adafruit's device that used an ATTiny85. First PCB iteration worked perfectly.

This is a 15Ah 12s lithium battery that I designed, assembled, and tested for a heavy lift drone. It was designed to be charged as two 6s batteries and is capable of high current outputs. The battery has an impressive 238 Wh/kg energy density.
